Living out the 12th Step
The twelfth step in Alcoholics Anonymous says, “Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.”
From the beginning, Gene Duffy, our founder, embraced this twelfth step, sharing his story of hope many times and placing the slogan, “Together they shared their experience, strength, and hope” on Duffy’s welcome sign.
Thankfully, Gene’s son wanted to capture his father’s story with his camcorder, so today, we can still hear Gene admonish and encourage each of us in our own recovery.
Share Your Experience, Strength, and Hope
In the tradition of our founder, we’re sending out a call for you to share your story of experience, strength, and hope to encourage others in their recovery. We want to film several individuals sharing their story with us.
Will you share your journey with us? Those chosen to share their story will receive a free sobriety weekend.
To give you an idea of what we’re looking for, here’s a sample of a testimony we’ve captured before:
If you’re a former guest of Duffy’s and would like to share your story, please enter a short summary of your story and how long you’ve been sober. We will review the submissions and contact you if we would be able to film your story.
We look forward to hearing from you!
