Veterans Affairs

Duffy’s Napa Valley Rehab is committed to providing premier care to military veterans whose lives have been disrupted by substance use disorders and certain co-occurring mental health concerns. We are proud to be an authorized healthcare provider in Region 4 of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Community Care Network.

What Is the Community Care Network?

The Community Care Network (CCN) was developed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in 2018 as a means of ensuring that veterans in communities throughout the United States had direct access to quality care for a wide range of concerns, including addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders.

The CCN is designed to replace the Patient-Centered Community Care (PC3) network, which the VA had previously used to purchase community-based healthcare for qualified veterans.

The Community Care Network includes VA hospitals as well as many thoroughly vetted private and public healthcare providers. The CCN is organized into six regions that include all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and all U.S. territories.

Duffy’s Napa Valley Rehab is an authorized provider in the CCN’s Region 4, which includes the state of California.

The establishment of the CCN included a provision that the VA contract with third-party administrators, or TPAs. In addition to overseeing various administrative duties, the TPAs are charged with promoting transparency, quality service, accountability, and effective communication.

Region 4 is one of two regions in the CCN that are currently administered by TriWest Healthcare Alliance.

TriWest Healthcare Alliance

TriWest Healthcare Alliance, which is commonly referred to as TriWest, was awarded a contract in 2019 to serve as the third-party administrator for Region 4 in the VA’s Community Care Network. In addition to California, Region 4 includes 11 other states in the continental United States, plus Hawaii.

In 2020, the VA selected TriWest to serve as the TPA for the CCN’s Region 5. Alaska is the sole state in Region 5.

Since its establishment in 1996, TriWest Healthcare Alliance has worked closely with the U.S. military and the VA.

Prior to being selected as the TPA for Regions 4 and 5, TriWest had been the longtime administrator for TRICARE, which is the Department of Defense’s healthcare program for active-duty military members, retirees, and certain family members.

Navigating the CCN

In addition to providing comprehensive, personalized care for veterans who are struggling with substance use disorders and certain co-occurring mental health concerns, Duffy’s Napa Valley Rehab is also committed to helping veterans navigate the Community Care Network, confirm their eligibility, and access all benefits to which they are entitled.

The dedicated members of our admissions team are happy to answer any questions about the CCN or any other matters related to behavioral health services for military veterans. We work closely with TriWest and the VA to ensure that we can provide veterans with the information and guidance they need so that they can make the most informed choices about their health.

To learn more about the CCN, to explore treatment options at Duffy’s, or to schedule an admissions assessment, please feel free to contact us at your convenience. A member of our team is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to speak with you.

On July 26th, 2013, I entered Duffy’s after detoxing. Thanks to the good foundation I got here, I am still sober! I hope the first Monday’s activities are checking out what meetings you will go to after you leave Duffy’s. I am still going to the ones I wrote down 5 years ago. Thanks for being there for folks like me who could not stop drinking.
